My work

For Altura Vela I'm the end-to-end technical contact: I designed and built the management system, I look after the website and I take care of the whole infrastructure. The most important piece is the management system.

The custom management system

It's an application built from scratch in Nuxt, designed around the way the school works: it handles boats, skippers and members in one place. I designed and built it myself, from the data structure to the interface, including Stripe payments and a few artificial-intelligence features that take repetitive work off whoever organises courses and outings.

The most concrete result is operational: with the system the company can manage more boats than it followed before, without the organisation becoming heavier.

The WordPress website

The site presents the school's whole offer: sailing courses, boat licences, cruises, charter and fleet. It's built in WordPress and I look after every part of it, from content to structure, from speed to maintenance.

Hosting, email and newsletter

I also take care of hosting, email and the newsletter you can subscribe to from the site. A single point of contact for the whole technical side: when something is needed, the school knows who to ask.

The client

Altura is a sailing school in Rome that has been taking people out to sea since 1991, from beginners to those who want to become skippers. It offers sailing and skipper courses, boat licence courses, regattas, training cruises and skippered charter, with a fleet of 10 company-owned boats and bases in Rome, Fiumicino, Nettuno and Cala Galera. Around the school there is a community of members who share a passion for sailing.
